What To Expect When You Join Us

It all started when…

Meeting in a local school auditorium, The Church At White Knoll started in late 2019, just 6 months before Covid shut the world down.  Our goal was to break the typical ‘Bible Belt’ Church Mold and create a community of people that could be vulnerable, real, authentic, and honest with ourselves, one another, and God.    Despite the many setbacks of being a young church during a worldwide pandemic, we’re still here! We’re now meeting at a local rental facility, Taylor Plantation.

We are a small, incredibly laid-back, normal-people, informal type church. Here you’ll find a variety of ages, socio-economic status’, races, and religious backgrounds. But we’re all pursuing the One God & His Son Jesus, together as One Body. Services start at 9:30am, but there are breakfast items, coffee, and juice available before we officially get started. The meeting space is an open reception hall, so breakfast, fellowship, and the service all happen in the same space.

Volunteers are available every Sunday to watch your young children, while elementary aged children will stay with their family the first part of the service.

We typically kick things off with musical worship right off the bat. Led by husband and wife singers, we sing many worship sounds that you might hear on local Christian radio, while tossing in some updated versions of some favorite classics, hymns and psalms.

Our elementary aged children are then dismissed to attend ‘children’s church’ if they’d like, but of course they’re more than welcome to stay with their parents in the service if they choose. Mrs Nichole Keech leads this ministry in the sunroom of the facility, and their fun can sometimes seen and heard from the big meeting space, but that’s ok. We love it that way. There is something incredibly special about a family that adores their children, and we want to be that family.

Pastor Michael will then lead us in a time of Biblical study together. While encouraged to bring a Bible and follow along, you do not have to be a scholar or wise sage to get it. In fact, he attempts to communicate in a ‘real’ way that we all can understand, despite our age or how long we’ve been a part of a faith community. His down-to-earth style is not like many formal pastors, but that is endearing to many who attend.

We’re not normal, and we strive not to be. One way we prioritize being a spiritual family above just having normal church services, can be seen on the first Sunday of the month. Instead of our normal set up and schedule, the entire family will stay together for the service time and we will have a buffet style pot luck breakfast DURING the service. We pray and allow everyone to get their plates, spend a little time chatting and fellowshipping, and then Pastor Michael will begin the lesson while we finish enjoying our breakfast.

This is a surprising experience for many, but we’ve grown to love the atmosphere because of the personal relational growth we’ve been able to experience during this time. This monthly breakfast allows for conversation, laughs, and friendships that are harder to achieve during a normal Bible-Belt type service.

We don’t have all the answers, but what we do have is love, encouragement, support, and drive. We want to love God more as we get to know the One who loves us the most, and we want to allow that love to overflow into our community.

We’re small. We’re informal.  We’re friendly.  And we’d like for you to join us.
